Rooted in Adventure: Making Memories Around the Globe
Hello, humans.
My name is Wanderlust, and I’m a Hedgehog Snake Plant living at kTown Hall Coworking. While most of my peers are content hanging in their pots, brightening up their little corner of the office, I yearn to stretch my leaves and experience life beyond these walls.
It’s a good thing my friend Ellen is a travel agent for Dream Vacations, because she usually remembers to bring me along. Together we’ve seen so many corners of the world, you wouldn’t be-leaf it. We’ve sailed the high seas on cruise ships. Floated down European rivers and experienced culture at every port. Even explored closer to home, like our nostalgic road trip down the Lincoln Highway.
Me by the Giant Quarter in Everett, Pennsylvania along the Lincoln Highway. Don’t let the perspective fool ya—this beast is 20 feet tall and weighs 1600 pounds! (And I’m not talking about myself!)
Ellen specializes in river cruising and group travel, but she’s never met a vacation she couldn’t plan. I love being part of her groups and making friends around the world—both the people I set off with and the ones I meet along the way. Like this lovely bartender I recently met on the MSC Meraviglia, who served me some delicious cocktails.

I believe that if people traveled more there would be less conflict because we’d realize that we’re all the same, no matter where we live. Even a prickly guy like me.
When I’m not traveling, I’m super involved in my community. My favorite cause is reopening the Strand Theater in Kutztown. Just like travel, movies and performances bring people together. My dream is that one day the theater will become a hub between Kutztown University students and the residents of Kutztown.
I also enjoy geocaching, because it brings me to places I’d never normally go, even in my own hometown. Plus spending time with my plant family, of course. Maybe I’ll introduce you someday.
I’ve been so many places, it’s hard to pick a favorite. Though I wouldn’t say no to another European river cruise or trip to Alaska!
There’s something unique about every place you visit. That’s why I started this blog. So I can share stories, recommendations—and yes, glamor shots—and maybe encourage you to have an adventure of your own. Ellen’s really good at helping with that!
The open seas await! All aboard!
And who knows, maybe one day I’ll even have my own travel podcast. I just have to learn to speak first. I’m working on it.
Until then, please bookmark this humble little blog so you don’t miss any of my posts. I’ll try to check in once a month. I’m already working on the tale of my winter voyage on the MSC Meraviglia: Plant Versus Snowstorm.
Stay green,
Wanderlust
